Objectives:
Training farmers to recycle agricultural waste to improve health, environmental and economic conditions in three local units in Zagazig Center in Sharkia Governorate. |
Accomplishments:
- Collecting and producing 300 tons of agricultural waste and converting it into compost and marketing it.
- Training of 60 farmers to recycle agricultural waste and turn it into high quality organic fertilizer.
- Training 40 students at the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, Zagazig University, to launch small projects through the recycling of agricultural waste.
- Implementation of 5 seminars and 3 seminars to raise awareness of farmers and the people of the targeted villages of the importance of benefiting from agricultural waste and converting it into products of economic value.
- Printing 1,000 brochures for the project and distributing them in the targeted villages to show how to make use of agricultural waste.
- Protecting the environment from the products of burning agricultural waste, by utilizing and recycling it.
