Concerned authorities

The direct beneficiaries of the GEF Small Grants Program in Egypt are non-profit organizations whose capacities to serve their communities and protect the environment are being built and developed through learning by doing. Through the implementation of these projects, the NGOs have created job opportunities for local youth. By creating jobs for these youth, the projects have contributed to community development and may have initiated economic growth in certain cases, but they have also certainly revitalized the environment and protected natural resources from exploitative use and pollution.
